This type of meditation might make you more aware of making a mistake
In 10 seconds? Researchers have found that a type of meditation called “open-monitoring” can increase brain signals related to being consciously aware of making mistakes.
Why is this finding important? Mindfulness meditation has a reputation for improving many cognitive processes including attention, but the research regarding whether or not meditation can improve error monitoring – that is, the ability to notice mistakes during goal-directed actions – is inconsistent. The researchers of this study thought that previous findings might be mixed because there are many different kinds of meditation, so they focused on just open-monitoring meditation and found positive effects!
