Incels’ increased risk of mental health problems

In 10 seconds? New research has found that incels (involuntary celibates) suffer from lower levels of well-being and higher incidence of mental health problems than non-incels.

What do you mean by incels? Incels are an online subculture of men who perceive themselves as unable to attract women for romantic and/or sexual relationships. They are a controversial male demographic for the association of some members of the incel community with hate speech and violence. Computational linguistic analysis has identified that a minority of users (10%) posts the majority of hate content on incel forums, especially misogynistic stances. Furthermore, extremely rare cases of mass shootings have been perpetrated by individuals self-identified as incels.
