How CO2 can help agriculture become more eco-friendly

In 10 seconds? A new method of creating starch artificially – and much faster than in plants – can help lower the environmental impact of agriculture, save money and recycle CO2, a new study has found.

Wow, what’s the discovery? A group of Chinese Scientists from the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology has reported the synthesis of artificial starch by using a cell-free chemo-enzymatic system that converts CO₂ at an 8.5-fold higher rate than the natural process in a corn plant.
