What do you mean by ‘combination treatment’? Combination treatment involves using two or more therapies to treat cancer. This is nothing new in cancer, as combinations of surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy are currently standard treatment for many cancer types. But alas, there’s still progress to be made in treating cancer. With so many new cancer drugs to choose from, cancer researchers are working hard to come up with clever combinations of cancer drugs to take treatment to the next level. A recent study showed how combining lenvatinib and pembrolizumab (the combination treatment) yielded superior survival outcomes to treatment with sunitinib alone (the single treatment).
